Great win. But I am surprised he got as far as he did with the amount of mistakes he has in his locker. But I hope he doesn't change as its that unpredictability that makes his so watchable. One frame he is breath-taking, then next shot he's, well....a bit like me.

I liked the attitude of that young Chinese player too, but I don't know if that was just youthful bravado on his part, that may disappear once he gets some realities and frustration into his game....

Clearly a lot of natural talent and cavalier attitude in his game which is what makes him so good to watch.

I don't watch much now, but do remember about a decade ago numerous pundits including the nugget were asked who the next superstar would be and the majority said luca. he eventually made it, and his playing style is a welcome break from the likes of the aussie myra hindley

Had lost all five of his previous Crucible appearances in the first round, this year he won 10-9 so fine margins.
Agree that this should be good for the game, fearless and just gets on with the shot without studying it for an age, and goes for shots more rather than safety. Has no coach or shrink, etc. Could also make the game bigger in mainland Europe.
Selby is actually a good bloke, yes a down in the mouth deminna (sp) but a good bloke.
